Description

Relatively large hawkfish, with dark-edged red/orange spots on snout and face, stripes on nape and dark blotches on body, which is grey on head grading to white towards rear, spots on tail and pectoral fin base spotted with orange red spots. Endemic to subtropical Tasman Sea islands.
