Distribution

Tropical Indo-Pacific


Description

Distinctly small scales compared to most other soldierfishes, and often red blotches on tips of soft dorsal and anal fins. Base colour variable from bright red, to silver, to white. White leading edges on all median fins except for spiny 1st dorsal. Dark red band on rear edge of gill cover to pectoral fin base.
