Description
Variable and nondescript, but usually with golden outer eye, and indistinct mauve marking from corner of mouth, curved below eye. Juvenile grey with yellow-edged black spot on spiny dorsal fin. Similar S. insularis (Island Gregory) found only at Christmas Island, has lighter rear body and fins.
