Distribution

Temperate northern Atlantic, Tropical Atlantic/Caribbean


Description

Reddish above fading to silvery white below. Red and white markings on the spinous dorsal fin, edges of all other fins white. Pointed tail, anal and soft dorsal fin lobes. A nocturnal species found around coral and offshore deeper rocky reefs.
