Distribution

Temperate South America, Tropical Atlantic/Caribbean


Description

Silver or light golden with a large black spot on tail base, slightly above centre, and sometimes faint, narrow, dark bars on sides. Body in adults quite high, and a slight bump on head in front of eyes. Found in turbulent waters, usually in the surfzone.
