Tropical Indo-Pacific


Description

Adult has uniform silver-grey body and slightly darker fins, high fore body tapering strongly to tail base, fine scales, dorsal fin continues well past end of anal fin to start of elongate tail fin base, lacks large rubbery lips of Plectorhinchus species (Sweetlips). Intermediate size animal has dark spots on body and fins; juvenile has broad black, white and sometimes yellow stripes along side.
